Results & expectations
Vitiligo is a chronic auto-immune condition, so 'cured forever' is not a promise any honest clinic can make. What is achievable for most patients is halting the spread and recovering a significant portion of lost pigment. How much depends on where your patches are, how long you have had them, and whether the hair inside the patch has turned white. You will get a specific, individual answer at the assessment — not a slogan.
Spread slowing is usually the first sign, between weeks 6 and 10. Visible repigmentation typically begins between months 3 and 5. If you are shown before-and-after photos claiming full recovery in six weeks, you are looking at either a different condition or a different pair of hands.
In descending order: face, neck, trunk, upper arms and thighs respond well. Elbows, knees and shins are moderate. Hands, fingers, feet, toes and lips are the slowest, because these areas have the fewest hair follicles — and follicles are the reservoir from which new pigment cells emerge.
It signals that the melanocyte reservoir in those follicles is depleted, so repigmentation there is slower and often incomplete. It does not mean the surrounding skin cannot recover, and it does not mean the spread cannot be stopped.
Relapse is possible, and it is most common in people who stop abruptly the moment they are happy with the result. That is why the protocol tapers rather than stops, and why we keep you on a maintenance diet with a review every three months.
Treatment & safety
The formulations we use are classical preparations, sourced from GMP-certified manufacturers, and dispensed in doses calibrated to your body weight and digestion. We also monitor liver and kidney function periodically for patients on long protocols. Any medicine — Ayurvedic or allopathic — taken unsupervised at the wrong dose can cause harm, which is why nothing here is sold without a consultation.
No. Tell us what you are taking and we design around it. Steroids in particular should never be stopped suddenly — if tapering is appropriate, it needs to be done in a planned way, ideally in coordination with the doctor who prescribed them.
The common ones are mild and early: some loosening of stool in the first two weeks as digestion resets, and occasionally mild redness or itching where external Bakuchi preparations are applied. Bakuchi is photosensitising, which is exactly why quantity and sun timing are prescribed rather than left to you.
Yes, in controlled, timed doses — it is an active part of the protocol, not incidental. Uncontrolled sun exposure on Bakuchi-treated skin causes blistering and hyperpigmentation that can look worse than the original patch. You will be given exact timings and durations.
Yes, with dosages adjusted for age and weight, and generally from around six years old. Childhood vitiligo often responds very well, partly because it is usually caught early and partly because diet is easier for a family to control.
Practical & logistics
Yes — a large share of patients are followed up remotely. Photographs monthly, blood reports on WhatsApp, phone or video consultations, medicines couriered anywhere in India. The only thing we ask is consistency with your photographs.
It varies with the surface area involved and the formulations required, so we do not quote before seeing the case. The assessment is free, and you receive a complete written cost breakdown before you commit to anything.
Most protocols run between nine and eighteen months, followed by a tapering phase. Focal and recent cases are frequently shorter; long-standing generalised vitiligo is often longer.
Clear photographs of every patch in natural daylight, a note of when each patch first appeared, any previous treatments and their results, and recent blood reports if you have them — thyroid, B12 and vitamin D are the useful ones.
No, and you should be wary of any clinic that does. What we offer instead is an honest assessment before you spend anything, a written cost breakdown, and photographic documentation every month so you can judge progress with your own eyes rather than take our word for it.
